Tuesday night everyone may have noticed some trouble
connecting.. One of the major backbone providers (UUNET) is recovering
from routing problems and should be back to normal in a day or so. Whenever
a major backbone has problems, the difficulties propagate across the net
making things a bit strange for a while. Unfortunately, there is nothing
StarLink-IRC can do about these outages except ride them out with the patience
and cooperation of our users.

The StarLink-IRC WebRing is again operational, with
many thanks to the hard work of beaches and others. Check out the WebRing
page for details on how to submit your site for inclusion in the ring!

Last week we had a few new groups look us over at the
Tues nite netmeeting. Some folks with long established channels form other
nets have have decided to set up shop in our cybervillage! The resons given
(in general) are that they like the family atmosphere, frienldy 'staff',
and the generally nice folks who live here. Of course they also like our
spiffo CStar and our no-lag network. From all of us, welcome aboard!
