This page has been added to recognize and credit the
systems and organizations that provide the actual hardware and operating
systems that make our net possible. While they may not be on our net as
users, we benefit from their donated equipment and bandwidth every time
we log on.
For those of you in the right areas, check out the services
they provide too!

StarLink-IRC Announces that the latest CServe v3.2 is
online!
The best new feature is that it can now be re-opped when
we have
a net desynch, and NOT mess up topics!
and it has colors in the ACCESS display.
Note that PROTECT and SUSPEND have also been enhanced.
Once again, the best bot on the best net out there!
Congratulations to all.

By now, most of you may know we have recently
linked up with a new server in Stillwater, Oklahoma USA. The admin is hUnTeR
if you're looking for him.
They have recently come to SL-IRC from chatnet. The server
delinked from chatet due to a difference of opinion on network policies
and, after checking out many of the nets out there, they decided that our
SL-IRC neighborhood was what they were looking for in a net.
Hope everyone will make hUnTeR, his opers, and any of
his users who come over here feel welcome and part of our family.

LIVE!! Thanks to the efforts of sinbad and wantabe.com,
we now have live status indicators for the servers. The lites are updated
every few minutes and indicate if the server is on or off line. Note, if
the lights are off, it just means wantabe is temporarily unreachable from
your location.

The Cleveland, OH server (lightstream.net) will, at the
request of the sysadmin (greenman) be delinking from StarLink-IRC
on 27 June 97. Best wishes to lightstream and greenman, and thanks for
being part of StarLink-IRC all these months. |
Those of you on the net Tues evening may have noticed
just a bit of bot hopping.. with CStar and DeathStar (the oper bot). As
you know, we are migrating CStar to another server and, basically, its
restart problem was worse. So, with some troubleshooting and a LOT of patience
and help from everyone, we managed to narrow the problem down and now have
a working combination.
We try very hard not to disrupt service, and do apologize
for the difficulties this evening, but it was important not to leave the
net overnight with a glitchy bot combination. Thanks to each and every
one for their assistance and patience. Did I mention patience?
