#Thanks to {cryssy} and DarkHawk of #mirc_colors for the wonderful

Sept 11th. There were 65 users in the channel to watch the GREAT tribute!
Thanks also to Puriel for the great tribute show that was held in #Townhall
on Sept 13th. Puriel did the show on very short notice but again, a good
crowd showed up to watch! Also, on Sept 13th, {cryssy} and DarkHawk of
#mirc_colors did an encore show of their tribute. Thank you to all the
folks and their super art work!

#SCIASTRO
#sciastro was registered on StarLink-IRC in mid-July.
The channel is dedicated to astronomy chat; anyone, from those who have
a casual interest, to seasoned veterans, is welcome to join us. Topics
range from observations, astrophotography, CCD imaging, recent astronomical
events of note, such as meteor showers, solar observing, and the astronomer's
perennial complaint - the weather! This channel is family oriented, and
is open to people of all ages, regardless of their level of interest. Our
website is at http://sciastro.net/chat
- there you can "meet" our channel operators, and some of our
many members. We have members from all over the world, and although we
do have people that are fluent in a number of languages, we prefer that
English be spoken on the channel. Originally founded on Undernet, #sciastro
has been in existence since November of 1996 and is open 24/7. So
come join us!

#Child-Loss
#CHILD-LOSS: Aras wishes to invite everyone to visit
her new channel #child-loss.
#Family_Tree
#Family_Tree is now open for chatting and for trading
ideas on research of our family trees. I have been working on my family
tree now for over three years and have over 10,000 people in it. Everyone
is welcome to come and chat with me whenever I am there. I am a working
gal, so I don't always have the time to have the room open everyday, but
I try to get there as much as I can. Please feel free to stop in and chat,
ask questions, or give me your surnames and I will try to help as much
as I have time to. I hope that anyone that needs a hand with their family
tree or just wants someone to talk to will stop in and say hi. spidee

#SailingTalk
Come aboard #SailingTalk and chat with others that share
a love for sailing and the water in general. We are usually there at around
2200 (10pm) ET. You don't need to have a boat. And we welcome newbies as
well as experienced sailors.
#Genealogy
The channel is open all the time for anyone to come in
and share information on their family research. Mennonite lines are the
specialty of the channel owner BCDon, and he has a large database which
he can research for your own lines.
#OldRadio
Joe Mackay has this information from the "golden
days of radio":
>From Those Were The Days -- 9/14/1936 - The NBC presented
John's Other Wife for the first time. Actually, John's other wife was not
his wife at all. She was his secretary. 9/15/1934 - NBC radio presented
The Gibson Family to American audiences. The program was the first musical-comedy-drama
to be broadcast. Ernest Whitman and Eddie Green were featured members of
the cast and were billed as "network radio's only colored comedians."
The show originated from the studios of WEAF in New York City. Birthday:1908
- Penny Singleton (Mariana McNulty) Friends of Old Time Radio (FOTR) convention
will be held in Newark, NJ October 24 - 27 and we anticipate having several
of our members attending, being on panels, selling their wares (tapes and
books). (Ye Editor has her plane tickets) #Oldradio meets on Thursday evenings
5 PM Eastern to discuss the old shows on radio - comedy, drama, music.
Everyone is welcome.

FOGWEB FOLLIES
|
A short column of made-up facts and
non-information brought to you by your friendly neighborhood arachnid
Well here it is Septober and SOOOO much has been happening..... First
we have SOME "amazing" person who actually makes toasted tomato
sandwiches, if we are to actually believe that. Course, when asked how
she kept the tomato goop from sliding out of the bottom of the toaster,
she got hostile. I even suggested scotch tape but no. She did tell us ALL
that the secret is making little holes in the toast for the tomato slices.
Thats so kyuuuutee !!!!! (Your intrepid blue dot recalls the last time
he was involved with a toasted tomato, it involved a lot of sun screen
and .. um.. n/m. (sure is handy that *I* write the follies, isnt it?)
On the worldwide scene, the PC said Amber did an illegal operation and
is therefore going to jail. Bumpa denies involvement with anyone's love
child and ^Vulcan remains suspiciously silent. Kath thinks she is staying
out of the newsletter by being quiet. (we see how well THAT works, now
don't we?) It just goes on and on and on ....
In Florida (home of the voting machine) we find that our own ellegon
is known as BUBBYDRAGON. She really LIKES that nickname so be sure to use
it a WHOLE LOT when you see her. Tell her I sent you.
On the klutz front, we have news from the midwest. You remember Arte
Johnson and the tricycle on Laugh-In way back?? Well chiefy fell over on
his ATV while vacationing and its pretty obvious thats what it hadda look
like. Seems there are no pictures either. Suspicious? Indeed. Be sure to
make up er find some pix and we can put them in the next edition.
Speaking of overeating. You may notice wildchild limping around the
net. Well.. supposedly the porch chair broke thru the porch and threw her
on the ground. Right. We all know what happens when you just keep them
donuts coming on Sunday morning. Yeppers. Defective porch. Right. We all
know what happened and hope Wild gets better soon at the Betty Crocker
clinic.
More recently.. not that your intrepid spider would gossip ya understand..
but it seems the funiture salesperson nemesis was out in the yard and,
to quote (nick hidden to protect the innocent) <Ama*zing> but a fly
flew into my mouth while i was working outside today. Now.. maybe what
they say about women and yards and gossip isnt true.. Or on the other hand....
And last but not least from the rat fink file...
HEY LOIS READ THIS
<Donna518> Lois will just make things up if you forget
<Amazing> yea..hehe
<Donna518> they might be more interesting
<Donna518> i am only getting away with that one because she isn't
here
We now wait to see what the editor has to say about this.
Dontcha love it when its a busy month?? See yall before Halloween ...
and keep those cards and letters coming in. Specially the letters. We are
running out of K's.

Falling
By: Michelle Bell
- Falling down
- Down to the bottom of death
- With nothing to hold onto
- Except fear As you near the bottom
- You are suddenly being lifted
- But you see yourself hit the ground
- The bottom of the pit of death
- You feel no pain You are no longer afraid
- You look ahead And see a soft light
- You look around you
- You see the hope, the faith, the love
- That you have felt all your life
- You reach out to grasp it
- And hold it in your heart
- You sense the presence of others
- But you don't see anyone
- Then you begin to realize
- That you are on your way to Heaven
- With all of the others who perished in that fire of terror
- To begin the rest of your life *
If you love something.....
Contributed bySnooks(#oldradio)
- If you love something, set it free.
- > If it comes back, it will always be yours.
- > If it doesn't come back, it was never yours to begin
with.
- > BUT. . ..
- > If it just sits in your living room,
- > Messes up your stuff, > Eats your food,
- > Uses your telephone, > Takes your money,
- > And doesn't appear to realize that you had set it
free.
- > Then, You either married it or gave birth to it!

TOMORROW:
Contributed by Willco
- If I knew it would be the last time
- That I'd see you fall asleep,
- I would tuck you in more tightly
- and pray the Lord your soul to keep.
- If I knew it would be the last time
- That I see you walk out the door,
- I would give you a hug and kiss
- And call you back for one more.
- If I knew it would be the last time
- I'd hear your voice lifted up in praise,
- I would video tape each action and word,
- So I could play them back day after day.
- If I knew it would be the last time,
- I could spare an extra minute
- To stop and say "I love you,"
- Instead of assuming you would KNOW I do
- If I knew it would be the last time
- I would be there to share your day
- Well, I'm sure you'll have so many more,
- So I can let just this one slip away.
- For surely, there's always tomorrow
- To make up for an oversight,
- And we always get a second chance
- To make everything just right.
- There will always be another day
- To say "I love you,"
- And certainly there's another chance
- To say our "Anything I can do?"
- But just in case I might be wrong,
- And today is all I get, I'd like to say how much I love
you
- And I hope we never forget.
- Tomorrow is not promised to anyone,
- Young or old alike,
- And today may be the last chance
- You get to hold your loved one tight.
- So if you're waiting for tomorrow
- Why not do it today? For if tomorrow never comes,
- You'll surely regreat the day,
- That you didn't take that extra time
- For a smile, a hug, or a kiss
- And you were too busy to grant someone,
- What turned out to be their one last wish
- So hold your loved ones close today,
- And whisper in their ear,
- Tell them how much you love them
- And that you'll always hold them dear
- Take time to say "I'm sorry," "Please
forgive me," "Thank you," or "It's okay."
- And if tomorrow never comes
- You'll have no regrets about today.
